What to Expect The Lead Paramedic will be responsible for emergency and non-emergency medical incidents, provide advanced life support, and coordinate with a team of paramedics to ensure high-quality patient care and promote operational efficiency in the on-site medical clinic. As a part of this team, you will play a critical role in protecting lives, maintaining compliance with state and national standards, and support our environmental health and safety staff by evaluating and improving the overall patient care process. This position demands good medical discernment, strong leadership, and a commitment to excellence in high-pressure environments.
What You'll Do
- Lead scene management for medical emergencies, including assessing patients, administering basic and advanced life support (ALS) treatments (e.g., IVs, medications, defibrillation), and interface with external agencies transporting patients to appropriate facilities
- Coordinate with a team of paramedics including assigning shifts, conducting quality assurance, and providing on-scene guidance to ensure safe and effective operations
- Develop and deliver training programs on EMS protocols, equipment use, and emergency procedures; facilitate continuing education to keep the team certified and up-to-date on best practices
- Oversee Inspection, maintenance, and inventory of EMS vehicles, equipment, and supplies; ensure readiness for deployment and compliance with industry regulations
- Accurately document patient interactions, incident reports, and team activities in electronic health records (EHR) systems; analyze data to improve response times and care quality
- Oversee factory training sessions on CPR, first aid, and emergency preparedness; collaborate with local agencies for disaster response planning
- Collaborate with Medical Directors to implement approved protocol changes and communicate updates to the On Site Medical (OSM) team to ensure the best possible patient care and outcome
What You'll Bring
Current State of Nevada Paramedic License or Paramedic NREMT certification. Current AHA Basic Life Support (CPR and AED) certifications and ACLS and ITLS or PHTLS certifications7+ years of experience as first responder Paramedic in a 911 system, hospital / clinic setting, or combination of both.
