A precision manufacturer in Harwood Heights is hiring a Quality Technician to support its quality department during a period of rapid growth. This is a hands-on, entry-to-mid-level role that involves performing dimensional and visual inspections on machined components used across industries like aerospace, oil and gas, and industrial manufacturing.

About the Role

You’ll be part of a team ensuring products meet all quality specifications and standards. The work is fast-paced and dynamic, involving both shop-floor inspection and data entry / documentation tasks. Candidates should have a strong attention to detail, a mechanical mindset, and a willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

Perform dimensional and visual inspections using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other tools.

Inspect machined components for defects, burrs, and tolerance compliance.

Record inspection data and nonconformances using basic Excel and quality software.

Verify material certifications and ensure traceability compliance.

Collaborate with machinists and engineers to resolve quality concerns in real time.

Participate in maintaining an organized and safe inspection area.

Qualifications

1–3 years of experience in quality inspection or manufacturing environments.

Proficient in using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).

Ability to read and interpret blueprints (GD&T familiarity preferred).

Basic Excel knowledge for data entry and reporting.

Strong communication skills and an eye for detail.

Experience in machining, sheet metal, or ISO-certified manufacturing is a plus.
