Riaz Capital is an Oakland, California based fully integrated development, investment, and asset management company, focused on addressing the changing housing needs of the millennial generation.
Our mission is that anyone who earns area median income can afford a place they would love to call home by building transit-oriented high-quality apartments at an affordable price point for our residents.
Our vertically integrated development firm has operated in the Bay Area since 1977. Today, the Riaz Capital team manages over 1,500 units and has roughly 1,700 residences in the development or construction process, and possesses core competencies in development, construction, asset management, finance & capital markets to exercise control and speed of execution through every stage of the development cycle.
In addition to new construction development, the firm has extensive experience in repositioning both urban and suburban workforce housing properties, and has executed several adaptive reuse projects.
Our current activities are 70% new construction and 30% adaptive reuse and repositioning. Today, Riaz Capital has $500 million in real estate assets under management and with our current development pipeline, should reach $1 billion by 2024 / 25.
Our core new construction design is a 300 + / - square foot studio that incorporates all of the necessary functions of a housing unit.
We have developed a design that works in a variety of building types : Townhouses, Mid-Rise Apartments, Substantial Rehab and Adaptive Reuse.
Our current design and mission is a result of a years-long synthesis of our experience from micro-units, student housing, traditional multi-family, and co-living.
Our units foster total privacy and security, which provides our residents with a sense of independence (and individuality) all within the fabric of a larger community.

Artthaus Power Internship Opportunity
Overview :
Riaz Capital’s solar company, Artthaus Power, is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join our team as a Tenant Outreach and Communications Intern.
This internship offers a unique opportunity to contribute to our exciting new solar program aimed at promoting sustainable energy solutions and encouraging tenants to enroll in the program.
As a Tenant Outreach and Communications Intern, you will play a pivotal role in raising awareness, fostering community engagement, and driving tenant participation in our solar initiative.
Responsibilities :
- Outreach Strategy : Collaborate with the outreach team to develop and execute a comprehensive outreach strategy to promote the benefits of the solar program among tenants.
- Tenant Engagement : Engage directly with tenants through various channels, such as direct outreach, community events, workshops, and virtual meetings, to educate them about the advantages of solar energy and the enrollment process for our solar initiative.
- Communication Materials : Assist in creating compelling and informative communication materials, including brochures, flyers, email campaigns, and social media content, to effectively communicate program details and drive tenant interest.
- Data Collection and Analysis : Help collect and analyze data related to outreach efforts, program participation, and tenant feedback to make data-driven improvements and recommendations.
- Tenant Support : Offer assistance to tenants during the enrollment process, addressing their queries, and providing necessary guidance.
- Feedback Integration : Gather feedback from tenants and community members to identify potential areas for program enhancement, and relay the input to the program management team.
- Reporting : Prepare regular progress reports on outreach activities, program enrollment metrics, and other key insights, to be shared with the management team.
Required Skills and Qualifications :
- Currently enrolled in a relevant undergraduate or graduate program, pursuing a degree in real estate, communications, marketing, sustainability, environmental studies, or a related field.
- Minimum 20 hours per week commitment.
- Passionate about sustainability and renewable energy with a genuine interest in promoting solar initiatives.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to create compelling content.
- Strong interpersonal skills and comfort with public speaking and engaging with diverse audiences.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Detail-oriented with good organizational and time management abilities.
- Basic knowledge of data collection and analysis is a plus.
- Fluent in both English and Spanish speaking required
Duration and Compensation : This internship position is expected to start as soon as possible for the duration of the 2023-2024 school year, but may be flexible subject to the company and project needs.
The intern will be compensated at $20 - $25 per hour, depending on experience, and will have the opportunity to earn bonuses based on completed enrollments in the Artthaus power program.
This position offers the opportunity to gain valuable experience in sustainability outreach and communications.
