As an HVAC Construction Lead Technician, you will play a critical role in leading the installation and setup of HVAC systems on commercial and residential construction projects. This position requires a valid RI / MA Refrigeration Journeyman license and a strong understanding of HVAC equipment, ductwork, refrigerant systems, and field coordination. You'll guide apprentices, interpret plans and specs, and ensure high-quality, code-compliant work is completed on time and safely.

Essential Job Functions

• Install, route, and secure refrigerant piping, drain lines, and ductwork per plans and specifications
• Set and mount HVAC equipment including rooftop units, split systems, heat pumps, and ventilation systems
• Braze, pressure test, and evacuate refrigerant lines in preparation for system startup
• Interpret mechanical drawings, isometric diagrams, and manufacturer specs for field install
• Identify field challenges and report any changes, delays, or conflicts to the Foreman or PM
• Provide technical guidance and hands-on support to apprentices and helpers during installation
• Prep installed equipment and systems for commissioning by others (e.g., controls, insulation, labeling)
• Ensure all installations meet local and national code requirements and GEM quality standards
• Conduct self-checks of work for accuracy and code compliance
• Use hand and power tools, brazing torches, and testing gauges safely and effectively
• Record daily work completed, material used, and any field deviations using company tools or apps
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and follow all site-specific safety requirements
• Participate in daily toolbox talks, JHAs, and safety walkthroughs
