American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiac Telemetry night shift position requiring an active AZ or compact RN license and recent telemetry experience.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Position is in a 32-bed Cardiac Telemetry unit within an acute care settingPatient population includes post-cath lab, post-vascular procedure, day 2 post-CABG, general telemetry, and adult patients aged 15 and olderNurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1 : 3-4Uses Cerner EMR, with centralized telemetry monitoring12-hour night shifts (7 PM – 7 AM), every other weekend requiredFloating may be required to similar or lower acuity units, first to float policyHospitalist rounds during the day and is on call at nightPCTs support the unit at a ratio of 1 per 16 patientsTwo-day floor-specific orientation providedPrimary responsibilities include managing telemetry patients, titrating cardiac medications such as Amio, Cardene, Nitro, Heparin, Dobutamine (down titration only), and collaborating with hospitalists and support staffNo pediatric assignments; patients must be at least 15 years oldNo ventilator management required; respiratory therapy and pharmacy available 24 / 7Charge nurse and clinical supervisor provide managerial support on the unitNavy scrubs required for this positionReturning travelers must not have been employed at any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility in the past yearRequired to reside at least 50 miles from the facility if living in AZ, NV, NE, IA, or MN; 60 miles for CO, KS, or UTFirst day study materials provided for sterile technique orientation testingHoliday coverage expectations apply according to unit needs\n \n Requirements\n
Active AZ or compact RN license required; pending licenses not acceptedMinimum of 2 years recent telemetry RN experience within the past 6 monthsCurrent BLS and ACLS certifications required; pending certifications not acceptedMust be able to interpret EKGsSuccessful completion of Dysrhythmia (Prophecy / Relias) exam within 24-48hrs prior to acceptance with a maximum of two attemptsPass / Fail sterile technique test required on first day of orientationCopy of driver’s license required for considerationTwo professional references required : one supervisor reference from the past 12 months, and one peer or supervisor reference from the past 3 years\n Benefits\n
