CERTS technicians are NSF, CNBT, IEST and CETA trained to meet the stringent needs of customers’ cleanrooms and clean equipment. CERTS invests in the most current, state-of-the-art testing equipment to provide the most accurate and efficient testing available.
Job Summary
The Operations Manager reports to and partners with the General Manager to support all aspects of the business including Daily Project Operations, Staffing, Purchasing, Estimating, Invoicing and P&L Management. Key focus will be to lead the company’s Project Teams to ensure the safe, productive, and quality execution of all projects. This position requires strong leadership, organization, time management, communication, and client service skills. The Operations Manager possesses advanced knowledge and expertise in full-service testing and certification of NSF, CNBT, IEST and CETA.
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Excellence :
- Develop and implement operational plans and strategies to ensure the effective delivery of services in accordance with established standards and objectives.
- Monitor and evaluate operational performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of field service processes.
- Ensure that the Project Management Teams know and understand complete project plans, specifications, documents, reports, contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and requirements.
- Work with Field Service Supervisors and CERTS staff to direct and manage testing & certification, schedule labor for service order, prepare weekly progress reports, and update schedules.
- Track payroll, manpower, and total worked hours across all of CERTS.
Estimating :
Resource projecting of Personnel, equipment & tools and timeCost Estimation of labor, material and operational costsProject calculating the scope of work, budget planning & risk assessmentTeam Leadership :
Lead and supervise a team including field supervisors and technicians, to ensure alignment with organizational goals and objectives.Provide guidance, coaching, and support to team members to enhance performance, productivity, and morale.Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the team.Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and effectively manage performance.Client Relations :
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients / customers to understand their needs, address concerns, and ensure high levels of satisfaction with our services.Collaborate with the CERTS team to identify opportunities for upselling or cross-selling additional services to existing clients / customers.Represent company to customers, subcontractors, suppliers, vendors & employees in a professional manner.Satisfy clients, maintain good open communication channels & a positive relationship with customers, contractors, suppliers, and other employees to ensure testing & services are executed well.Process Improvement and Optimization :
Identify inefficiencies or bottlenecks in Field Service processes and develop strategies to streamline operations and enhance efficiency.Implement best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and quality in service delivery.Leverage technology and automation tools to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.Proactively participate, promote, develop, and advance knowledge base and skill sets for the division.Support further development and enforce all company standards, systems, and policies.Resource Management :
Manage resources, including human resources, equipment, and materials, to ensure optimal utilization and cost-effectiveness.Forecast resource requirements based on demand forecasts and operational plans, and coordinate procurement activities as needed.Ensure we are properly staffed. Anticipate new staffing needs based on work in the pipeline. Actively lead recruiting and hiring process in conjunction with General Manager and Human Resources.Risk Management and Compliance :
Identify operational risks and develop risk mitigation strategies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.Implement and maintain effective internal controls and procedures to safeguard assets and maintain operational integrity.Requirements :
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS :
5 years project management experience or operations experience.Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience such as construction management, facilities management or Engineering.Previous management experience.Cost management and ability to estimate.Demonstrated skills in Sage / Timberline and Procore Construction Management or similar Software.Demonstrated experience in Microsoft ProjectCandidate must have valid work authorization.Salary is commensurate of education, years’ experience, and marketKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED :
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.Advanced interpersonal and communications skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies.Ability to negotiate and manage contractual agreements.
