Slakey Brothers, established in 1939, is a wholesale distributor of Heating, Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) and Plumbing dedicated to providing the best service and value to our Customers while providing opportunity and job satisfaction to our Team Members throughout in Northern & Central California, Western Nevada and Southern Oregon.

Slakey's Operations Internship Program provides an amazing, hands-on opportunity to become familiar with our business and industry from the ground up by learning Slakey's customer service philosophy, operating processes, and procedures.

Schedule - Monday-Friday, primarily day shift schedule, 40 hours per week. Occasional overtime may be required.

Paid Internship - $24 per hour.

Travel requires travel to various Slakey branch locations. Most trips are local and completed in a day, though occasional overnight travel may be needed. Mileage, hotel, and meal costs are reimbursed according to our travel policy.

Flexible Start & End Date - we work with your school schedule. Start dates as early as May 1st and completion date as late as September 30th with a minimum of 12 weeks of participation.

Training - learn multiple areas of Branch and Distribution Center operations including will-call, receiving, cycle counting, order writing, deliveries, customer service, asset management, safety, and sales.

Job Duties - assigned job functions will vary by branch location and will include warehouse work (may include lifting 50-75 pounds and working at heights of up to 30 feet), delivery, administration, and sales support.

Mentorship - regular meetings and ongoing interaction with the Corporate Operations Manager to learn more about Slakey's business, career growth and development opportunities throughout the Company.

Company Education - Interns will gain insight into all business units and participate in tours of our Corporate Office and Elk Grove Distribution Center.

Collaboration - Interns will engage and collaborate with Branch Teams to include Warehouse Team Members and Delivery Drivers, Branch Managers, Inside and Outside Sales Representatives, Corporate Operations Team, and some Corporate Departments.

Intern Engagement Interns collaborate through planned events and scheduled Zoom calls.

Qualifications - Internship is open to current college students and graduates up to 12 months past graduation.

Future Career Opportunity - Interns who successfully complete the Internship Program may be considered for full-time employment following graduation.
