Position Summary
This role involves directing daily workflow and assisting the Nuclear Medicine Supervisor, Imaging Services Supervisor, Imaging Services Manager, and / or Imaging Services Director.
Responsibilities
Essential Functions
Adhere to Baptist Health mission statements and strategic imperatives.Assign team members to specific rooms to coordinate patient flow.Initiate service recovery and involve supervisor and / or manager as needed.Plan and prioritize exam scheduling and processing to support patient and physician needs.Work directly with interpreting physicians and supervisors to standardize guidelines and initiate revisions as needed.Ensure images meet established Quality Control standards.Provide input for evaluations and coaching plans.Apply principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.Participate in interviews for potential team members.Perform all nuclear medicine procedures. If dual certified as RT(CT) or NMTCB(CT), may also perform diagnostic CT imaging as required.Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations related to radiation safety, radiopharmaceutical storage, handling, and administration.
Ensure safety of all customers.Act as a resource for new team members and students.Assist in training new technologists.Participate in departmental projects and process improvement initiatives.Utilize all corporate radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.Perform venipuncture and evaluate IV access for radiopharmaceutical and medication administration as prescribed by a licensed practitioner. May also administer contrast if dual certified.Demonstrate proficiency in contrast medication administration.
Maintain regular, punctual attendance in accordance with policies and standards.Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, guidelines, and education requirements.Other Related Functions
Maintain cleanliness and organization.Maintain a cooperative work environment and report noncompliance.Report equipment issues.Work closely with all departments for high-quality coordination.May be required to work at any facility.Provide patient transport services.Qualifications
Education / Training
Graduate of an approved school of Nuclear Medicine Technology.
Licensure / Certification
Must meet ONE of the following :
Maintain current certification as a CNMT by NMTCB ORMaintain current certification as an ARRT(N) in Nuclear MedicineMust meet ALL of the following :
Maintain current Florida State License as a Nuclear Medicine TechnologistMaintain current BLS / HealthCare Provider certificationExperience
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in nuclear medicine required.
