Shipping and Receiving Driver

Job Summary
The Shipping / Receiving Driver is responsible for the timely delivery of products, as well as assisting with all daily shipping and receiving activities.
Essential Job Functions
- Safely operate company vehicles to deliver products to various locations within a designated area.
- Ensure timely delivery of shipments while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Load and unload products from the vehicle, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any questions or concerns from customers professionally.
- Build positive relationships with clients through effective communication and reliability.
- Verifies products prior to packaging and follows packaging instructions.
- Prepares items for shipment, including completing shipping notices, bills of lading and any other required documents.
- Determines shipping priorities, work assignments and shipping methods to meet shipping schedules, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates.
- Ensures accuracy, completeness, and condition of outgoing shipments.
- Packages product according to work instructions.
- Must be able to create advanced shipping notifications for applicable clients.
- Receive incoming shipments, verifying the quantity and quality of products against purchase orders or packing lists.
- Inspect received goods for damage or discrepancies and report any issues to management promptly.
- Organize received items in the warehouse according to established procedures.
- Follow all safety protocols while driving and handling materials
- Assist production and assist other management personnel as needed.
Skills and Abilities
