NICU RN Job Details

Location : Worcester, MA 01605

Healthcare Setting : Level III / IV NICU – 49 beds, daily census of 40

Assignment Type : Travel Nurse Contract

Start Date : December 2, 2025

End Date : March 3, 2026

Contract Duration : 13 weeks

Nursing Shift : Nights, 3x12-hour shifts per week (19 : 00 – 07 : 30)

Hours per Week : 36

Orientation : 48 hours

Estimated Weekly Salary : $2360 - $2420

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Massachusetts RN license (conditional license accepted)

Minimum 2 years of recent NICU nursing experience (Level III or IV)

NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification

BLS certification

Experience with EPIC charting system

Infant Driven Feeding Training preferred

Flu vaccine required (medical / religious exemptions allowed)

Must pass Tele exam during orientation (80% passing score)

NICU Nurse Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to neonates and infants with complex medical needs

Monitor, assess, and document patient status using EPIC electronic health records

Administer medications, blood products, and perform advanced NICU procedures (arterial line management, central line care, ventilator management, therapeutic hypothermia, surfactant administration)

Support breastfeeding and family education

Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory therapy, radiology, and social services

Participate in pre- and post-operative care for surgical neonates (gastroschisis, omphalocele, g-tube placement)

Maintain strict infection control and isolation precautions

Provide compassionate support to families during critical and challenging situations
