Referral Authorization Specialist

Los Angeles Area (Remote)

Seeking a highly skilled and detail-driven Referral Authorization Specialist to oversee the end-to-end coordination of specialty referrals within a value-based healthcare environment. This role demands precision, accountability, and efficiency—ensuring every referral is processed correctly, every patient receives timely access to care, and every data point meets regulatory and operational standards. We are looking for empathetic professionals that are enthusiastic about their patient’s health.

Compensation : $25 - $35 / Hour

Benefits : 3 weeks paid time off (2 weeks + 6-7 federal holidays), 401K, Medical, Dental, and Vision.

Responsibilities :

Own the referral lifecycle from initiation to closure—including intake, documentation, submission, authorization tracking, and completion verification.

Ensure clinical appropriateness and compliance by validating referral requests against medical necessity criteria and plan requirements.

Collaborate directly with PCPs, specialists, and health plan representatives to facilitate high-quality, timely access to care.

Audit and reconcile referral records daily to identify and resolve missing documentation, errors, or delays.

Qualifications :

2 years experience as a Referral Authorization Specialist (Preferred)

Bilingual (Strongly Preferred)

Bachelor’s degree (Added Plus)
