Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist for a day shift vascular interventional radiology position requiring at least 2 years of peripheral vascular and venous central line experience.
Responsibilities
Work in a vascular interventional radiology department performing peripheral vascular work, venous central lines, tube changes, and embolization proceduresCases may include arterial and venous embolization, venous thrombectomy, neuro procedures (preferred), and hybrid peripheral vascular coordination with vascular surgeryProcedures performed include cardiac and peripheral interventions, structural heart procedures (such as TAVR, Watchman, Mitraclip, Triclip, ASD / PFO, CardioMEMs), and use of adjunctive tools (ICUS, FFR / iFR, Lithotripsy, Laser, Rota, Impella, IABP, OCT, CTO)Adult patient populationDay shift schedule Monday through Friday, 7 : 30 AM to 5 : 00 PMOn-call duties required within 6 months of startNo local candidates accepted (50 mile radius rule applies)EPIC is used for charting and experience with EPIC is requiredLevel 1 Trauma experience requiredAdminister contrast material and monitor for allergic reactions as ordered by the physicianAssist with procedure inventory and supply managementVerify patient and chart information, ensure accurate documentation, and provide clear explanations of proceduresContribute to training and orientation of new staff as neededExpected to perform all core duties of a radiologic technologist in an interventional settingRequired to provide a 30-day advance notice for assignment cancellation once startedTime off requests not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contractReturning travelers may not serve on assignment for more than 1 year without a 6-month break before returningNo travel partners are acceptedRequirements
Minimum 2 years recent experience in peripheral vascular interventional radiology, venous central lines, tube changes, and arterial / venous embolizationAbility to work around and maintain a sterile field during proceduresBLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association requiredIEMA Radiography License Illinois required if applicableRadiography (R)(ARRT) requiredAssociate's degree in a related field or certificate in Radiologic Technology requiredManual dexterity to handle supplies and equipmentEffective communication skills, capacity for accurate, detailed work, and the ability to follow instructionsMust list EPIC charting experience and Level 1 Trauma experience for considerationExperience with interventional neurology is preferredBenefits
