Job Summary :

The Buyer II plays a key role in managing and optimizing the procurement process within a dynamic manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely delivery of materials and services. The Buyer II collaborates with internal and external partners to resolve procurement, inventory, and invoice issues while supporting production, customer service, and product engineering teams to meet operational and customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities :

Manage procurement and sourcing activities, including vendor selection, negotiation, and purchase order management.

Ensure on-time delivery of goods and services to meet production and inventory goals.

Identify and resolve issues related to procurement, quality, invoicing, and inventory discrepancies.

Execute SAP transactions for part consumption, adjustments, and purchasing activities.

Analyze part characteristics and consumption trends to forecast purchasing needs.

Collaborate with Product Engineering, Production, and Customer Service teams to maintain continuous operational support.

Evaluate supplier performance, manage supplier relationships, and escalate quality issues when necessary.

Participate in process improvement initiatives and apply lean methodologies to enhance procurement efficiency.

Maintain procurement documentation, records, and reports to ensure compliance and accuracy.

Support inventory control and MRP health metrics to ensure efficient material flow.

Required Qualifications :

Bachelors Degree from an accredited university.

3+ years of experience in purchasing or production planning within a manufacturing environment.

Strong working knowledge of purchasing processes, production scheduling, and supply chain operations.

Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications :

Proficiency in SAP for purchasing and production planning.

APICS certification (CPIM) preferred.

Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement experience (Green Belt certification a plus).

Demonstrated negotiation and supplier management skills.

Experience in quality assurance, reporting accuracy, and process improvement.

Ability to collaborate effectively with Engineering and Operations departments.

Understanding of key MRP health metrics and procurement KPIs.
