Job Title : Building Envelope Junior Technical Support Specialist

Pay & FSLA Status : $60,000 - $70,000 per year, D.O.E., with commission opportunities; Salary exempt

Regular Schedule & Shift : Monday – Friday; Day shift

Regular Weekly Hours : Full-time / 40 hours per week (overtime as needed)

Paid Time Off (PTO) : 80 hours / year first year of employment, 120 hours / year following first year

POSITION SUMMARY :

The Building Envelope (BE) Junior Technical Support Specialist is responsible for educating the distribution chain on all features and benefits of DuPont™ Tyvek® Weatherization Systems and additional OrePac envelope materials. This position is responsible for creating demand with downstream participants (general contractors, dealers, distributors, architects, and key influencers) in the market area.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

Understand the residential and commercial market segment, including the roles of owners, general contractors, sub-contractors, consultants, architects, and suppliers.

Target top architects, builders, contractors, and suppliers within the market area.

Establish short and long-term goals and strategies regarding key clients and prospects. Develop specific action plans to achieve goals.

Conduct in-depth market trend analysis, competitor assessments, and customer segmentation to inform strategic planning efforts.

Identify the top builders within the immediate market and work to establish relationships with those builders.

Exercise independent judgment to tailor technical messaging, training content, and outreach efforts to specific markets and customer segments.

Target to visit (at a minimum) 15 to 25 general contractors and job sites weekly to conduct cold calls, installation demonstrations, warranty inspections, pre-construction meetings, and observations.

Be an active member of at least 2 industry organizations (such as HBA, AIA, CSI, BEC) and attend monthly meetings.

Lead and contribute to the development of tactical go-to-market plans, including training programs, architectural outreach, trade show presence, and sales enablement tools. Take an active training role with our Authorized Dealer Network, including training, following up on project / customer leads, and compiling project submittal documents.

Collaborate with sales leadership, full-line sales team, and product managers to develop and implement regional market development strategies that align with company goals and to communicate upcoming jobs and possible customer needs.

Partner with the full-line sales team to shape territory-level business development priorities based on field insights and project pipelines. Regularly schedule ride-alongs to visit jobsites, dealers, and customers, and to address sales opportunities.

Identify opportunities to enhance product positioning and strengthen OrePac’s brand through technical education and consultative support.

Provide input on pricing strategies, product stocking recommendations, and market positioning based on competitive intelligence and demand signals.

Communicate regional marketing opportunities with the Building Envelope Regional Manager, including trade shows, publications, and seminars.

Participate in regular joint calls with branch full-line representatives.

Attend and participate in branch regularly scheduled sales meetings.

Communicate with the sales team to manage and coordinate sales to customers who overlap geographic boundaries and markets, as well as to leverage the OrePac portfolio across company boundaries.

REQUIRED SKILLS :

Demonstrated ability to analyze complex information and make informed decisions that impact regional business strategy.

Strong capability to independently plan, prioritize, and execute strategic initiatives with minimal oversight.

Excellent judgment and critical thinking skills to assess market conditions, adapt strategies, and resolve cross-functional challenges.

Proven ability to influence internal stakeholders and external partners through strategic communication and consultative support.

Strong business acumen regarding sales and knowledge of current and possible future industry trends.

Ability to travel (approximately 75%+) throughout the sales regions.

Aptitude to develop knowledge of the industry within a given market. Knowledge base in building materials is preferred; specific knowledge of the building envelope is desired.

Drive and self-discipline to work independently within territory to accomplish goals.

Ability to speak and present effectively before groups of customers and OrePac employees.

Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with customers – both internal and external.

Must have a pro-active, self-motivated, self-starter, and action-oriented personality that drives for results.

Ability to foster a collaborative, team-based approach.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).

Strong interpersonal and organization skills.

Ability to work with a diverse group of people both within the Company and in a sales capacity.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry, including calculating figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Commitment to and demonstration of high ethical standards governing professional behavior and interactions.

Strong customer service orientation.

Ability to read, write, and communicate in Spanish is required for this role.

General knowledge and understanding of OSHA guidelines and prescribed industry practices for navigating construction sites and scaffolding.

REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :

Bachelor’s degree in any field or 5 years of relevant sales or industry experience.

Any combination of education, training, or experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position will be accepted in place of the education and / or experience requirements listed for this role.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS :

Regularly required to stand, walk, and sit.

Regularly required to see, talk, and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, the ability to adjust focus, and peripheral vision.

Ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.

Occasionally required to lift / move / manipulate up to 50 pounds and team lift / move / manipulate up to 100 pounds.

Occasionally required to bend, reach, and climb tall ladders, scaffolding, and stairs.

The items listed below will be provided by OrePac. The employee will be required to comply with all OrePac policies relating to these resources.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :

This position operates both in a professional office environment and onsite in the construction field.

This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, photocopiers, and smartphones.

The work environment can be loud when in the construction field.

This position requires some overnight travel to sales markets outside of the assigned sales region 10-15% of the time.

The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places.

DRESS CODE :

  • All employees are expected to wear clothing appropriate for the nature of OrePac business and the type of work being performed. Clothing should be neat, clean, and tasteful.
