Logistics Technician
UT Southwestern is seeking a skilled and experienced Logistics Technician to join our Hospital Logistics Team. This role is responsible for the efficient handling of goods and materials within the supply chain, including inventory management, equipment distribution, and coordination of logistics functions.
Note : This position is part of the Logistics Department, not Food Service Operations.
Work Location & Schedule :
Location : Dallas Campus (may assist and travel to other UTSW locations as needed)
Schedule : MondayFriday, with occasional weekend projects and potential holiday shifts
Shift preferences will be discussed during the in-person interview
Experience and Education :
Required :
Education : High School Diploma
Experience : On-the-job training provided
Preferred :
Experience in logistics or medical equipment distribution in a healthcare, academic, or research setting
Customer service experience is highly recommended
Key Responsibilities :
Process orders and delivery requests
Oversee logistics functions, including inventory scanning and tracking
Tag, update, or remove equipment tags
Assemble, dismantle, and decontaminate medical equipment
Coordinate transportation, warehousing, and distribution of goods
Deliver and retrieve equipment and supplies across hospital departments
Maintain the cleanliness and functionality of delivery carts and equipment
Ensure patient safety by verifying patient identification when applicable
Communicate effectively with patients, nurses, and physicians
Promptly report any issues with equipment or service to supervisors
Participate in required training programs (e.g., ICARE, safety, compliance)
Perform other duties as assigned
