Controls Engineer – Direct Hire | Industrial Manufacturing

We are seeking a Controls Engineer to optimize production processes and integrate advanced technologies. This role is crucial for ensuring efficient, reliable, and safe manufacturing operations.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop control systems to support manufacturing processes
- Program, test, and validate systems using PLCs, SCADA, and HMI technologies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve efficiency and solve technical challenges
- Troubleshoot and maintain control systems, ensuring minimal downtime
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and ensure compliance with standards
- Monitor performance, analyze data, and implement improvements
- Train personnel on systems and processes as needed
- Perform system maintenance and participate in commissioning activities
- Integrate new technologies and collaborate with vendors for system enhancements
- Create system diagrams, electrical drawings, and use CAD tools for design work
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Computer, or Controls Engineering (or related field)Strong technical aptitude and advanced computer skillsProficiency with CAD software (AutoCAD or similar)Experience with control systems and DDC protocols such as Tridium, BACnet, or LON (preferred)Key Skills
Expertise in PLC, SCADA, and HMI systemsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilityExcellent analytical, communication, and collaboration skillsAttention to detail for documentation and complianceAdaptability to new technologies and processesUnderstanding of electrical systems, including low-voltage applicationsAdditional Considerations
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment strongly preferredSome travel may be required for project implementation or commissioningMust adhere to company and OSHA safety policiesExperience with energy management systems (EMS) such as Tridium, Alerton, or Distech is a plus
