Electrical Engineer

The Electrical Engineer will play a critical role in the design, development, and maintenance of drones, focusing on new electronic systems and enhancing the current fleet. This position involves creating state-of-the-art, eco-conscious Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) for the transmission industry, partnering with utilities and contractors.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop new products and enhancements using electrical engineering knowledge.
• Conduct electrical circuit and system-level design analysis, hardware testing, and troubleshooting.
• Develop test simulations, methods, and perform necessary testing or data collection.
• Conduct root cause failure analysis from component to system level.
• Support continuation engineering of existing released products.
• Perform reliability analysis to improve product quality.
• Maintain accurate documentation of concepts, designs, drawings, and processes.
• Provide detailed project estimates for time and cost.
• Collaborate with outside design partners and vendors for new product designs and maintain current products.
• Maintain technical coordination with Engineering, product design, test, EMC engineering, and manufacturing teams.
• Coordinate pilot production of new products with other engineering, manufacturing, sales / marketing, and quality assurance staff.
• Provide engineering support to factory and customer support teams.
• Provide and coordinate engineering support for prototype builds and lab testing.
• Write test plans and procedures for manufacturing and testing.
• Stay updated on relevant safety and electrical compliance standards and educate the team on changes.

Work Environment

The work environment includes a shop space and R&D facilities. The working hours are typically from 9 AM to 5 PM or 8 AM to 4 PM. The company offers a dynamic start-up atmosphere with opportunities to design aircraft from start to finish.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $100000.00 / yr. Employee share option plans, great benefits, generous PTO policy (30 days including holidays) Medical, dental, vision, 401k up to 4%.

Workplace Type

This is a fully onsite position in Buda, TX.
