The Android Location team works with massive datasets to improve Location for billions of users' mobile devices. We work with on-device algorithms, server side Machine Learning (ML) training, GPS, WiFi, accelerometer, gyro, and other on-device signals. Use cases include powering apps like Google Maps, Location Sharing, Rideshare, Location based games, and helping users in emergency situations (e.g., when dialing 911, earthquake detection and alerts, and more.).

In this role, you will work within a local team and with remote teams across Google to enable more accurate, reliable, timely, and power efficient location experiences across the Android platform and Pixel devices. You’ll use Google’s extensive development tools to build and extend the end user experience of using Location on Android. You will leverage exciting new AI technologies and frameworks to build features that power magical moments for users based on their location and other ambient context. Android is Google’s mobile operating system powering more than 3 billion devices worldwide. Android is about bringing computing to everyone in the world. We provide the platform for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and developers to build compelling computing devices (smartphones, tablets, TVs, wearables, etc) that run the best apps / services for everyone in the world. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $141,000-$202,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
