Position Overview
We are seeking a Collections Representative (Credit Clerk) to join our dynamic Credit Department. This role plays a vital part in supporting the credit and collections process, ensuring timely communication, accurate data entry, and exceptional customer service.
The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and enjoys working in a fast-paced environment with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Review completed credit applications for accuracy and enter information into Accuterm.
Proofread letters and documents prior to submission for management approval.
Answer and route incoming calls courteously and efficiently using a multi-line switchboard.
Respond promptly to requests for credit information on existing or previous accounts.
Provide administrative support to Credit Representatives, including preparing monthly reports on credit approvals, declines, and adjustments across multiple regions (FL, NC, TX, MO).
Communicate with drivers, sales teams, and customers to update delivery and payment information.
Process credit card payments and release credit orders in a timely manner.
Collect, organize, and maintain tax-exempt documentation for accurate billing.
Assist with departmental clerical tasks such as scanning, faxing, and research.
Participate in special projects and provide cross-functional support as needed.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Prior experience in credit, collections, or administrative support preferred.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills - both verbal and written.
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Windows-based applications.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask effectively.
Professional, dependable, and customer-service oriented.
