Position Overview :
We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer specializing in rail transportation engineering and construction projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing systems engineering efforts, with a proven background in applying industry standards and overseeing the integration of requirements.
The role involves leading a team and directly reporting project progress to the client.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and manage systems engineering efforts for rail transportation projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and client requirements.
- Establish and oversee requirements management, verification and validation (V&V), reliability, availability, maintainability, and safety (RAMS), supporting systems integration and change control processes.
- Implement and maintain compliance with ISO 15288, ISO 29148, EN 50126, or similar standards throughout the project lifecycle.
- Guide the team in utilizing requirements management tools and maintain traceability across the project's development stages.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve effective systems integration, ensuring that all technical and regulatory specifications are met.
- Develop and manage project documentation, processes, and deliverables in adherence to client and regulatory standards.
- Conduct risk assessments, identify potential issues, and create mitigation strategies for successful project execution.
Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering discipline.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in systems engineering efforts specifically on rail systems projects. (Applicants without rail systems project experience will not be considered).
- Deep understanding and implementation experience of ISO 15288, ISO 29148, EN 50126, or similar systems engineering standards.
- Proficiency with requirements management tools and a proven ability to maintain traceability in requirements management systems.
- Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and directing engineering teams.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical information to clients and stakeholders.
