Position Description
To assist in maintaining supply inventory for all programs; respond to students and instructors regarding inventory and equipment questions; maintain all cosmetology product records that reflect when and who dispensed product; ensure adequate stock of cosmetology related products; prepare all requisitions; submit work orders for defective or broken equipment; to perform related work as required; and to assist in all functions in support of the Cosmetology program.
Supervision Received and Exercised : Receives supervision from the Program Director of the Cosmetology program. Exercises no supervision.
Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following :
- Maintain inventory of supplies for all programs. Order and track supply usage at direction of Program Director. Perform weekly check of inventory.
- Preparation of requisitions, and other documents in support of the Cosmetology program.
- Prepare maintenance work orders for equipment.
- Participate in registration and recruiting activities for the college.
- Provide informational reports to faculty and staff as needed.
- Maintain all purchase order and supply records.
Other Important Functions :
Provide assistance to staff support to cosmetology personnel when necessary.Research and answer questions regarding status of students, rosters, grades, advising and other related matters.Provide information to students, staff and administrators upon request.Perform reception desk duties as needed.Participate in the enforcement of the Rights and Privacy Act.Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.Qualifications
Knowledge of :
Principles and procedures of record keeping.Basic principles of business letter writing and report preparation.English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.Modern office procedures, methods and computer equipment.Basis work processing methods, techniques and programs.Basic mathematical principles.Ability To :

A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be :
Minimum Education / Training : High School diploma or equivalent Minimum of one-year experience in an administrative setting with computer usage.
Preferred Education / Training : Associate's degree One or more years experience and / or training involving cosmetology record keeping and reporting.
