Position Overview and Responsibilities :
This is an advanced environmental position in the Division of Environmental Assessment and Restoration, Standards Development Section within the Water Quality Standards Program. The position involves conducting statistical analyses of environmental data, interpreting information in the context of water quality standards (Chapters 62-302 and 62-303, F.A.C.), and writing and editing environmental reports related to water quality standards development and implementation. The incumbent will be responsible for water quality criteria refinement and development projects including analyzing data, writing technical reports, and representing DEP professionally at public workshops to support rulemaking or other technical efforts.
Functions as a consultant on a variety of environmental issues for the purpose of recommending defensible environmental decisions. Provides technical input on water quality criteria development, rule development, and implementation. Participates in technical workgroups related to water quality, biological, and / or ecological topics as needed.
Provides input on technical reports and water quality models related to EPA national recommended water quality criteria proposals, permitting, water quality based effluent limit (WQBEL) or mixing zone establishment, total maximum daily load methodology, listing decisions and other topics that affect water quality standards development and implementation as needed to support other section work.
Other duties as required.

Pay : $4,582.95 Monthly
