About the role
- We are seeking a Business Systems Analyst (BSA) to bridge business needs and technical delivery for applications supporting the mortgage insurance domain. This role partners with product owners, architects, and engineering teams to define, document, and translate business requirements into actionable technical specifications. The BSA will analyze business processes, data flows, and system interactions to enable efficient, compliant, and scalable technology solutions supporting the mortgage lifecycle.
What you'll do
Collaborate with business stakeholders and product owners to elicit, document, and validate business and functional requirements specific to mortgage and insurance workflows.Translate business objectives into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and system requirements for development teams.Support solution design by coordinating with architects and developers to define functional logic, integration points, and data dependencies.Analyze and document data flows between internal and external systems, ensuring consistency and integrity across mortgage-related data sources.Partner with QA teams to review test cases, validate functionality, and confirm requirements traceability.Participate in Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and release readiness sessions.Maintain up-to-date system and process documentation for both internal and external integrations.Identify and recommend process enhancements, automation opportunities, and data-driven improvements within the mortgage insurance value chain.Support user training, change management, and post-implementation validation activities.Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, or a related field.5 years of experience as a Business or Systems Analyst within financial services or mortgage technology environments.Working knowledge of mortgage industry concepts such as loan origination, underwriting, servicing, or secondary markets.Proficiency in requirements gathering, documentation, and process modeling use cases, user stories, and workflows.Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies.Ability to analyze data structures and system integrations.Experience using Jira, Confluence, or similar platforms for documentation and backlog management.Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.Ability to work collaboratively across business and technical teams to deliver scalable, compliant solutions.Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in Business Information Systems, or related discipline8+ years of experience supporting technology solutions within the mortgage, insurance, or financial risk domains.Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP) or equivalent.Agile certification (e.g., Certified Scrum Master or Product Owner).Experience with mortgage insurance or loan origination systems such as Encompass or similar platforms.Familiarity with the data exchange standards defined by MISMO.Understanding of APIs, data mapping, and microservices architectures.Exposure to AWS-based applications and modern cloud ecosystems.Knowledge of BPM or workflow automation platforms such as Camunda.Background in data analytics or reporting tools supporting operational insights.What we offer
