Job description

Overview

Office of Criminal Conflict and Civil Regional Counsel, 1st Region has an opening for a Full-Time Legal Assistant to support attorneys in our Gainesville office. The regular work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 a.m. - 5 : 00 p.m.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones, transfer calls, and greet clients.
  • Handle electronic filings, calendaring, and assigned tasks.

Qualifications

  • Legal assistant experience, especially in the area of child welfare, preferred.
  • High school diploma required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Outlook).
  • Ability to balance multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and maintain a professional, friendly demeanor in interactions with inter-office staff, clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel.
