Sr. Elastic Cloud Enterprise (ECE) Engineer- Remote

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Senior Elastic Cloud Enterprise (ECE) Engineer to remotely support a foundational program that is protecting the security posture for the entire Federal Government.

The CDM program provides operational visibility across various government agencies (FDA, USDA, and FDIC) and offers a centralized dashboard powered by Elastic, enabling the government to query and monitor data efficiently.

Key Responsibilities :

• Deploy and manage Elastic Cloud Enterprise (ECE) on Linux-based cloud environments, with a focus on AWS GovCloud.
• Utilize Ansible for automation and optimization of cloud deployments.
• Expertise in optimizing indexes, queries, and charting within Elastic to ensure optimal performance.
• Collaborate with agencies to address technical challenges and make design decisions on data management and workload distribution.
• Mentorship and guidance on managing large amounts of data, fine-tuning performance, and designing index lifecycle management policies.
• Assist in researching performance issues and implementing solutions to optimize system performance.

Requirements :

• Strong experience in deploying and managing Elastic Cloud Enterprise (ECE) on Linux-based cloud environments.
• Proficiency in Ansible for automation tasks related to cloud deployments.
• In-depth knowledge of optimizing indexes, queries, and charting within Elastic.
• Familiarity with AWS GovCloud is preferred, but experience with other cloud environments will be considered.
• Experience with Kubernetes and its deployment (Elastic Cloud on Kubernetes - ECK) is a plus.
• USC Public Trust clearance and DHS suitability required.

Location : This is a fully remote position, open to candidates nationwide, with a preference for those in the DMV area (Washington D.C., Maryland, Virginia).

Core hours : 10 AM to 3 PM EST with a mandatory 8 : 30 AM EST status call every morning. Occasional after-hours work may be required for patching windows, typically once a month.

Interview process : Initial 30-minute Teams screen, followed by a panel interview with senior technical staff. Screening questions will focus on past ECE deployments and problem-solving skills.

Compensation : Up to $220,000 annually depending on experience

with ad hoc bonuses based on performance)
