Civil Litigation Attorney

Overview

A growing national civil litigation defense firm is seeking an Associate Attorney with 1–5 years of relevant experience to join its expanding insurance defense / general liability practice groups in Richmond, Virginia. The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice in Virginia (no exceptions) and have experience handling a broad range of civil litigation matters. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with lead attorneys on all phases of litigation from rapid response investigations and case evaluations to discovery, depositions, and trial preparation. Associates are given meaningful responsibility early on and are encouraged to think strategically to achieve client objectives.

The firm represents a diverse roster of domestic and international insurance carriers as well as major private clients, providing a dynamic mix of casework and exposure to complex, high-stakes matters. Responsibilities

• Work closely with lead attorneys on all phases of litigation from investigation through trial preparation
• Participate in rapid response investigations and case evaluations
• Contribute to discovery, depositions, and other pre-trial activities
• Engage in strategic objective setting to achieve client goals
• Provide meaningful responsibility early in tenure while collaborating with a team
