Description

Normal Work Schedule : Monday - Friday 8 : 00 am to 4 : 30 pm. Additional hours, including weekends and holidays may be required.

POSITION SUMMARY :

A professional position responsible for Utilities Engineering and providing technical engineering services for City utilities construction and improvement projects.

Example Of Duties

Essential FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned as dictated by operational necessity.

• Planning and Design of utility capital projects.
• Leads planning studies as required for water and wastewater utility operations and regulatory compliance.
• Assists in supervising projects in construction phase and serves as liaison between developers, engineers and contractors.
• Assists in the preparation of bid documents.
• Prepares and coordinates permit applications for submittal to various State and Federal agencies.
• Attends public hearings and meetings.
• Reviews construction plans submitted by Developer's Engineer for Utility Plan Approval.
• Updates Geographical Information system (GIS) for the Utility Department.
