Primary Purpose Provides analysis of specimens for review by the pathologist.

Responsibilities Responsibilities
1. Screens pap smears and non-gynecological slides and reports results according to established protocol.
2. Reviews patient history in association with screening cytology slides.
3. Documents workload and submits weekly reports for review. Reviews discrepant cases with Pathologist to improve and provide quality patient care.
4. Maintains a False Negative Proportion (FNP) of 1-2% of the lab average but does not exceed a 5% overall FNP.
5. Maintains an 80-100% Diagnostic Correlation with the Pathologist.
6. Maintains gyn statistical analysis rates of ± 5% as compared to the laboratorys overall rates.
7. Maintains individual workload limit as set forth by the supervisor / director, derived from the employees 6 month performance appraisal.
8. Completes special assignments as designated by the supervisor in a timely and professional manner.
9. Assists with Fine Needle Aspiration(FNA) adequacy assessments throughout various procedure areas in the hospital.
