A well-established engineering and construction materials testing firm is seeking an experienced Project / Branch Manager to lead operations for their Houston office. This role blends technical project oversight, business development, and team leadership, offering the opportunity to manage a thriving branch in a competitive and growing market.
Key Responsibilities :
- Oversee the daily operations of the Houston branch, including staffing, budgeting, safety compliance, and quality control.
- Lead and manage a team of engineers, technicians, and administrative staff to ensure project goals and client expectations are consistently met.
- Direct, coordinate, and monitor Construction Materials Testing (CMT) and geotechnical engineering projects from proposal through completion.
- Prepare and review project proposals, budgets, and schedules; ensure deliverables align with client specifications and company standards.
- Serve as the primary client contact, developing and maintaining strong relationships and expanding market presence through active business development.
- Review project deliverables for compliance with engineering principles, contracts, and applicable standards.
- Support recruiting, training, and performance management for technical and administrative staff.
- Participate in professional organizations and networking events to enhance visibility and business growth in the Houston market.
Qualifications :
B.S. in Civil Engineering (M.S. preferred).Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in Texas required (or ability to obtain via reciprocity).7+ years of progressive experience in geotechnical or CMT project management.Proven leadership experience managing staff, budgets, and multiple concurrent projects.Proficiency in MS Office Suite; familiarity with project management or CMT lab software (e.g., MetaField, KeyLab, OpenGround) a plus.Excellent communication, client service, and organizational skills.
