Job descriptionProvide nocturnist hospitalist coverage for med surg patients at critical access and trauma hospitals Independently manage patient admissions and acute care overnight, with varying acuity and volume Operate as the sole provider at critical access locations with no staff support (Jacksonville and Lincoln sites) Manage 3-4 admits / night at higher acuity sites and 1-2 admits / night at lower acuity sites Collaborate with MD and APP teams at trauma level 1 facilities, supporting up to 10-12 admits / night Utilize Meditech, CPSI, Epic, and Cerner EMR systems as appropriate to each site Ensure high-quality patient care while adapting to different hospital protocols and EMR platforms Current Illinois nurse practitioner license required Hospitalist experience strongly preferred Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification Ability to work independently and confidently in critical access hospital settings Flexibility to rotate among multiple hospital sites and adapt to different EMR systems Strong compensation Travel-related expenses covered A-rated medical malpractice insurance provided Dedicated recruiter for future travel opportunities Whether you need long term coverage for your practice, short term vacation coverage, or anything in between – you can trust Barton Associates to provide the flexible staffing solutions your organization needs to thrive. About The Position
We are seeking an experienced Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner for a 7-day locum tenens assignment in Illinois. This opportunity begins on Nov 24, 2025, and features overnight shifts from 7p-7a across multiple hospital sites, providing nocturnist med surg coverage at critical access and trauma facilities.
