About this Opportunity

Brunswick County Health Services is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounting Technician II to perform a range of technical accounting duties. This position is responsible for processing and maintaining Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) payments for insurance claims and ensuring the accuracy of financial data and records. The role requires strong attention to detail, initiative, and independent judgment in performing daily tasks.

In addition to core responsibilities, the Accounting Technician II will support other members of the accounting team and assist the Business Officer as needed. Duties may include preparing daily deposits, processing purchase orders, filing accounts payable documentation, managing shipping and receiving of supplies and materials, inputting data, maintaining spreadsheets, and responding to audit requests. This position plays a key role in supporting the financial operations of Brunswick County Health Services in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Education and Experience

Associates Degree and at least one year of experience in technical accounting or bookkeeping work, preferably dealing with medical insurance payments and strong data entry skills, or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Must exercise initiative and independent judgement, and attention to detail in ensuring accuracy of various figures and data.

Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and be able to use Microsoft Word and Excel to prepare spreadsheets for reporting.

Physical Requirements

Must be physically able to operate a variety of office machines. Must be able to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and / or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
