Job description

Description :

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager or the Team Lead in their absence, the maintenance technician is responsible for the general maintenance and repair of apartment units. Main duties include apartment turnovers, work order and preventive maintenance duties.

Position Responsibilities :

  • Perform routine and emergency maintenance on apartment units and property grounds.
  • Complete work orders in a timely and professional manner.
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoot issues with plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, and appliances.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and tasks.
  • Prepare vacant units for new residents, including painting, drywall repair, and cleaning.
  • Maintain accurate records of services performed and materials used.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and building codes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance shops and inventory.
  • Collaborate with property management team and vendors as needed.

Requirements :

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2+ years of maintenance experience, preferably in residential or multifamily housing.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general maintenance repairs.
  • Ability to read and write in English to interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints as well as document maintenance issues to resident files.
  • Basic computer skills for work order management and communication.
  • Valid drivers license and reliable transportation required.

  • Self-Motivated : Takes initiative, stays productive throughout the day, and manages time effectively without micromanagement.
  • Physical Requirements :

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds regularly.
  • Frequent standing, walking, climbing stairs / ladders, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including heat, cold, rain, and confined spaces.
  • Manual dexterity for operating tools and equipment.
  • Must be able to respond quickly to emergency situations, which may require running, climbing, or crawling.
  • Ability to use personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed.
  • Additional Requirements :

  • Must pass a background check after conditional offer of employment.

  • Compensation details : 27-32 Hourly Wage
