Medical Temporaries, Inc. is currently seeking an experienced Licensed Practical Nurse - Mental Health .

Minimum of one year of experience in a medical environment performing patient care duties.

This is a FULL TIME / TEMPORARY position requiring availability between the hours of 8 : 30AM-5PM, Monday through Friday, located in Norfolk, VA (23513).

Responsibilities :

A Day in the life of a Licensed Practical Nurse :

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (Mental Health Outpatient), you will be responsible for nursing duties to include medication administration, IM injections, evaluation of patients utilizing different scales and tools, obtaining vitals, performing health screenings, cross-coverage for other departments, and other nursing job duties.

Requirements for the LPN Mental Health :

• Required : 1+ years as a Licensed Practical Nurse in a health care setting environment
• Required : Valid unrestricted Virginia LPN License or valid multi-state LPN licensure
• Required : BLS
• Required : Clinical experience working with psychotropic medications and the severely mentally ill, including those with co-occurring substance use disorders and developmental disabilities
• Required : Ability to pass Background Check and Drug Screen
• Required : Must be reliable and a quick learner and have ability to multi-task with accuracy in a very busy environment
• Required : Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Required : Possession of a valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record as reported by the DMV.
• Required : Ability to give injections
• Required : Ability to collect blood

Preferred Qualifications for the LPN Mental Health :

• Preferred : Mental Health experience
• Preferred : Psychotropic medication knowledge and experience
• Preferred : Mental heath assessment knowledge
