Job descriptionBachelor of Science in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university; EET or similar considered Minimum of five years relevant experience Experience with industry, regulatory, and military standards / specifications Familiarity with RTCA DO-160, RTCA DO-311, and FAA TSO highly preferred Proficient with oscilloscopes, DVMs, data acquisition, and other electrical test equipment Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to interface with production, engineering, management, and external labs Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Avionics manufacturer is seeking an experienced Certification Engineer.
Position Summary
The Certification Engineer tests and certifies electrical equipment to support FAA TSO, STC, and PMA activities. The role involves managing the entire certification process from start to finish, including coordinating with engineering staff, scheduling testing, completing test reports, and ensuring project schedules are met.
- Authoring certification test plans and reports
- Executing tests to verify compliance with regulatory and quality standards
- Coordinating activities with external test labs and resources
- Assisting with prototype build and evaluation
- Designing, building, and specifying equipment for testing
- Evaluating new technology components and designs for certification testing improvements
- Providing test support for production as needed
