Job description

Position Summary

JMA Solutions, LLC, a management consulting firm in Washington DC, is seeking a talented and motivated Manual Test Engineer to develop products using cutting edge technologies as part of a large modernization effort that has significant industry focus. You will be an integral component of a team of passionate and enthusiastic IT professionals. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in software development, integration with different systems, software release management, and operations.

Duties

  • Test Planning : Develop and review test plans, test cases, and test scenarios based on software requirements.
  • Test Execution : Manually execute test cases on various applications, including web and mobile apps, to verify functionality, usability, and performance.
  • Defect Management : Identify, document, and report software bugs, errors, and inconsistencies using bug-tracking tools.
  • Collaboration : Work closely with developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and resolve identified issues.
  • Documentation : Maintain comprehensive documentation, including test plans, test cases, test scripts, and defect reports.
  • User Experience Focus : Test software from an end-user\'s perspective to ensure a smooth and intuitive user experience.
  • Regression Testing : Conduct regression testing to ensure that new software updates or changes do not introduce new defects.
  • Process Improvement : Provide feedback and insights to improve the overall quality assurance process and the user experience of the software.

Job Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Information systems, business systems, management information systems, IT Management, or other IT degree and 15 years of relevant experience (Engineering, math, and / or science degrees are acceptable substitute degrees)
  • Meticulous attention to detail for thorough testing and accurate defect reporting.
  • Ability to identify, analyze, and report bugs and issues in a clear and structured manner.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively report findings and collaborate with the development team.
  • The ability to think like an end-user and understand the user\'s experience with the software.
  • While not requiring coding knowledge, an understanding of software and applications is necessary.
  • Ability to manage time effectively to meet deadlines and complete tasks efficiently.
  • Salary

    $48,000 - $130,000 dependent on experience level and location. Entry level positions are available.
