Job descriptionParticipate actively in mobile medical unit operations, extending healthcare access to underserved communities throughout the tri-county region Adapt seamlessly to diverse clinical environments and patient populations while maintaining exceptional care standards Support community health initiatives and population health management strategies Orange Blossom Family Health Diagnose and treat diseases using current evidence-based practices within scope of practice and Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) standards Assess patient acuity levels and determine appropriate follow-up care, referrals, and consultations in collaboration with the Medical Director Maintain comprehensive, accurate documentation in Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems Review and manage patient medical records, laboratory results, and medication refill requests efficiently Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA and all federal / state confidentiality regulations Participate actively in peer review processes and Clinical Quality Improvement (CQI) initiatives Contribute to quality metrics achievement and clinical outcome improvements Practice cost-effective healthcare that supports organizational sustainability while ensuring medical appropriateness Serve as a clinical preceptor for students from academic partner institutions Engage in continuing education and professional development activities Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, behavioral health therapists, and support staff Provide clinical guidance and mentorship to healthcare team members Demonstrate exceptional professionalism through respect, compassion, integrity, and responsive communication Support organizational policies, procedures, and performance standards Participate in special projects and additional duties as assigned by leadership Current, unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in Florida Eligibility for Medicaid / Medicare provider enrollment Current DEA registration (or ability to obtain) BLS / CPR certification required; ACLS preferred Minimum 2 years of experience in primary care or urgent care settings Demonstrated experience in fast-paced healthcare environments with proven adaptability Background working with homeless, underserved, or vulnerable populations preferred Strong clinical decision-making abilities and comfort working independently Excellent time management and prioritization skills for coverage-based practice Proficiency with Electronic Health Record systems Deep commitment to Orange Blossom Family Health mission and values Cultural competency and sensitivity when serving diverse populations Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills Flexibility and resilience in dynamic healthcare environments Professional demeanor with strong ethical standards Bilingual or multilingual capabilities, particularly Spanish and / or Haitian Creole Experience with mobile healthcare delivery models Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner certification Public health or community health experience Experience with quality improvement initiatives

Position Overview
Join our mission-driven healthcare team as a Coverage Provider Nurse Practitioner, ensuring continuous access to high-quality primary healthcare for homeless and medically underserved individuals and families across Orange, Seminole, and Osceola counties. This dynamic role combines clinical excellence with community outreach, requiring adaptability in fast-paced environments and commitment to serving vulnerable populations.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Coverage & Care Delivery
- Provide immediate walk-in / same day coverage ensuring uninterrupted access to primary medical care during provider unavailability
- Assist in coverage of provider panels during scheduled absences, vacations, or unexpected unavailability to maintain care continuity
- Prioritize and complete time-sensitive follow-up appointments to prevent gaps in critical patient care, including transitions of care for recently hospitalized patients, and conduct preventive visits to address gaps in quality measures
- Deliver comprehensive, culturally responsive primary medical care through patient interviews, examinations, and evidence-based treatment protocols
