z / OS Mainframe Systems Programmer

A company is looking for a z / OS Mainframe Systems Programmer to provide comprehensive lifecycle support for mainframe infrastructure on a fully remote schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver daily systems programming support for IBM z / OS versions 2.5 and 3.1, including installation and configuration of key components

Provide operational support for IBM enterprise servers and manage storage systems, ensuring optimal performance and compliance

Plan and execute Disaster Recovery exercises, monitor system performance, and collaborate with technical teams for knowledge transfer

Qualifications

Deep expertise in Sysplex, Coupling Facility, JES2, SMP / E, TCP / IP, VTAM, RACF, CICS, USS, and IBM Workload Scheduler

Demonstrated proficiency in performance tuning and resolving complex system issues

Hands-on experience with IBM mainframe hardware spanning z13 through z17 platforms

Strong programming skills in COBOL, Assembler, and REXX, focused on utilities and automation

Familiarity with hybrid IT environments and modern DevOps practices as applied to mainframe operations
