Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

Provide support and services to families and their children, birth to three who have special needs

Provide services in the child's natural environment (childcare, home, playground, etc.) Meet with families based on the frequency and intensity that the IFSP team agrees is needed to support outcomes on the IFSP.

  • Attend and participate in treatment team meetings and professional staff conferences
  • Meet ethical obligations for timely documentation
  • Provide evidence-based play therapy interventions using various modalities for children and adolescents
  • Participate in continuing education and professional development activities related to the performance of job functions and maintenance of skills in one’s professional specialty area

Complete provider summaries by the 15th of every month

  • Seek consultation from leadership for complex cases
  • Provide parent feedback and skills training when working with children to ensure the entire family unit is included

Have ongoing contact and participate with families in collaborative decision-making during IFSP reviews.

  • Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills
  • This is an on-site job.
  • This is a contractual position.
  • Travel throughout Charlotte and surrounding counties

Qualifications Required :

Individuals who serve infants and toddlers in the ITP need specialized knowledge and skills. These are necessary for working with the diverse young children, families, caregivers, and professionals they will encounter.

Potential certificate awardees must have received a bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in one of the following fields :

  • Early Childhood Special Education
  • Special Education
  • Education
  • Elementary Education
  • Child Development
  • Child and Family Studies
  • Counseling
  • Human Development Family Relations
  • Family Studies
  • Family and Consumer Sciences
  • Nursing
  • Psychology
  • Social Work

Background check required

At least one year of experience in early intervention

Experience with Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) & Coaching and Natural Learning Environment Practices

Knowledge of child growth & development, family dynamics, early intervention practices & administration, evidence-based early intervention practices and the principles of coaching and adult learning;

federal regulations, and state laws.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts & draw valid conclusions; ability to work within a team structure;

handle routine & sensitive contacts with early intervention providers & other staff personnel in county boards of developmental disabilities, officials / representatives in other state agencies, local agencies, & colleges & universities, advocates & parents.

Have a valid driver's license and supply your transportation.
