Overview

Position : Sales Consultant

Location : Brooklyn, NY

Reports to : Outside Sales Manager

Hours : Full-time, 40 hours per week (some evenings / weekends)

About the Position

Brooklyn SolarWorks is seeking a passionate Solar Sales Consultant to join our dynamic Sales team. As a Solar Sales Consultant, you are the face of Brooklyn SolarWorks in our community. You guide homeowners through the journey to going solar, presenting complex topics in an easy-to-understand way, and projecting warmth and integrity in all customer interactions. You will help build a referral network and increase sales volume while spreading clean energy throughout the city.

Responsibilities

  • Complete daily phone and in-person consultations.
  • Gather information to accurately identify customer solar needs.
  • Prepare and share quotes with customers.
  • Address customer questions and concerns about potential solar installation.
  • Prepare loan applications for customer completion.
  • Generate and share contracts.
  • Sign new customers up for installation and hand off to permitting team.
  • Generate referral business.
  • Attend company meetings and events.
  • Provide customers with quotes and tax credit information.
  • Provide after-sales service including courtesy calls and site visits.
  • Carry out additional duties as required by the Manager.

Required Skill Set

  • At least three years of sales consultant experience.
  • Valid NYS Driver's license.
  • A clean driving record.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Friendly disposition.
  • Ability to relate technical information in easy-to-understand terms.
  • Ability to travel around the city and work irregular hours.
  • Marketing strategies and consumer psychology experience.
  • Strong computer skills (Google Suite, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently and under moderate supervision.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
  • Prior sales in a B2C environment.
  • Technical sales experience.
  • Referral business experience.
  • Preferred Skill Set

  • Bi-lingual (Spanish).
  • Prior solar sales experience is strongly recommended.
  • Knowledge of industry trends.
  • Passion for Brooklyn SolarWorks' mission.
  • Benefits / Compensation

  • Pay : $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year; On Target Earnings (OTE) $80k-$120k+ annually (commission).
