Assistant Director Of Compliance
The Assistant Director of Compliance serves as a member of a compliance team that is committed to excellence and advancing the Department of Athletics through its strategic plan. The compliance team is comprised of staff members with compliance sport oversight as well as responsibility for various specialized compliance work functions. Athletic Compliance staff members must be able to act with integrity and discretion as they will be exposed to sensitive and confidential information.
The position works to interpret, implement, educate, and audit NCAA, Collegiate Sports Commission, Big Ten Conference, and The Ohio State University rules and regulations. This position has compliance oversight of several sports programs and includes responsibility for each program's eligibility, financial aid, name, image, likeness (i.e., third party NIL and / or institutional NIL where applicable), playing seasons, and compliance auditing. This position must be able to exercise discretion and independent judgment concerning NCAA guidance for their designated sports programs and must be available after regular work hours when necessary to answer compliance related questions for coaches, staff, and student-athletes.
This position is also responsible for working in a team of staff members in a specialized compliance work function that may include areas related to eligibility, third-party name, image, likeness (NIL), legislation and governance, investigations, education, and compliance auditing. This position may also include working with various university areas including University Admissions, the Registrar, Student Financial Aid, the Office of University Compliance and Integrity, and Internal Audit.
Minimum Required Qualifications : Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 2 years of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
Desired Qualifications : 1-3 years full-time experience in an athletic compliance setting at an institutional, conference or national association level. Position requires strong computer skills, strong analytical skills, well-developed written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to balance multiple projects. Must have successful experience working in a collaborative and team-oriented environment and act with integrity and personal accountability.
