Patient Access Representative
Patient access representative plays a vital role in creating a positive first impression for patients and visitors while ensuring :
- Collecting accurate demographic and insurance information from patients.
- Verifying insurance coverage and eligibility.
- Collecting co-pays and co-insurance payments at the time of service.
- Directing patients to the appropriate department and notifying staff of their arrival providing excellent customer service while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Assisting with incoming phone calls and general inquiries.
- Following up on insurance claims as needed to support timely reimbursement.
Qualifications :
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.Basic understanding of insurance terminology and verification processes preferred.Proficiency with computers and office software : experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is a plus.Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.Prior experience in a healthcare or front office setting preferred.Demonstrated ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered care across diverse populations.Ability to meet the physical and functional requirements outlined in the job description.
