Selectek is partnering with a company based in Houston, Texas to hire a Journeyman Electrician. This firm specializes in large-scale automation projects in the commercial and industrial fields.

Expected Salary Range : $58,000 - $79,000

Job Duties :

• Working from diagrams and schematics, wires instruments to prepare the site for automation system design and programming.
• Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit.
• Installs tubing for instruments.
• Pulls wiring through conduit and labels appropriately.
• Connects wiring to controllers and instruments.
• Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments.
• Mounts instruments and PLCs in panels using a variety of hand tools.
• Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
• Travel may be required depending on the project.
• Standard tools used include hand tools, power tools (saws, drills), machinery (conduit cutters), multimeters, tubing bender and cutters.
