HiFyve is hiring a Heavy Equipment Shop Mechanic in the construction equipment industry in Wilson, NC!
Salary : Up to $40 / hr
Shift : Full-Time – 1st Shift, Monday–Friday
Location : On-site – Wilson, NC
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic with hands-on experience repairing and maintaining construction machinery, specifically Hitachi and Case equipment. This position is responsible for performing advanced diagnostics, repairs, and component rebuilds in a fast-paced shop environment. The ideal candidate is mechanically driven, safety-focused, and thrives in a collaborative team setting.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems on Hitachi and Case equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and equipment rebuilds as needed
- Utilize OEM diagnostic software and technical manuals to troubleshoot and repair issues accurately
- Complete all repair documentation, work orders, and service reports with attention to detail
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment that meets company and OSHA standards
- Support other technicians and collaborate with the Service Manager to ensure timely repair turnaround
- Participate in continuous improvement and training initiatives to stay current on equipment technology
Experience Requirements
3+ years of experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or similar role in the construction equipment industryStrong working knowledge of Hitachi and Case equipment preferredAbility to read and interpret schematics, service manuals, and diagnostic resultsDemonstrated skill in troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systemsWelding and fabrication experience a plusKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities
