As a Phlebotomist Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) , you'll serve as the frontline contact for patients seeking diagnostic services. This role requires drawing blood specimens, preparing them for testing, and ensuring patient trust and comfort throughout the process. The PSR II must be skilled in phlebotomy techniques across all patient groups and able to adapt to fast-paced, high-volume healthcare environments.
Key Responsibilities
Perform venipuncture and capillary specimen collections (pediatric and geriatric included).Verify patient information and ensure accurate specimen labeling in patient presence.Maintain compliance with documentation and safety standards.Provide excellent customer service to patients, staff, and providers.Support multiple patient service locations as needed with minimal notice.Promote organizational values by maintaining professionalism at all times.Required Experience
Minimum 3 years phlebotomy experience , including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.At least 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred.Customer service or retail / service experience preferred.Strong data entry and keyboarding proficiency required.Required Skills
Advanced phlebotomy expertise across diverse populations.Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.Strong organizational and multitasking ability.Flexibility for weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations as needed.Preferred Skills
Experience working as a floater across multiple service centers .Bilingual (Spanish / English) skills a plus.Familiarity with lab information systems and electronic health records.Licensure & Certifications
High school diploma or equivalent (required).Phlebotomy certification (preferred; mandatory in CA, NV, WA , not in PA).Medical assistant or paramedic training (preferred).Benefits
