This position is in Cargill’s protein and salt business, where we provide wholesome, high-quality food products to a wide range of customers, from foodservice operators and grocery stores to manufacturers and exporters.

Job Purpose and Impact

The Engineer II will focus on optimizing the interconnected components of an underground mining operation and the surface infrastructure supporting the mine. We seek a professional who will develop and apply engineering standards and procedures relating to concepts such as project management, rock mechanics, mine planning, ventilation, hoisting systems, materials handling, environmental management and safety best practices.

Key Accountabilities

• Collaborate with plant management and other engineers for operational planning, troubleshooting, and design for business and production optimization.
• Help conduct cost / inventory / production control and feasibility studies to develop and implement plans for facility modifications and revise operating methods.Act as a project manager responsible for business case justification, communication with consultants, document control and design review, schedule and budget management, creating job plans, progress communications, and contractor safety oversight during construction on moderate to complex projects.
• Be accountable for project reliability deliverables such as management of change, proper material and parts selection, job aid creation, and maintenance stakeholder engagement.
• Collaborate with stakeholders across all levels of an operation to effectively implement project deliverables in an industrial setting.
• Support, coach and mentor other employees of cross-functional teams as necessary.
• Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Other duties as assigned.

The expected salary for this position is $85,000-105,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
