Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager – Mechanical/HVAC

We’re a Mechanical/HVAC subcontractor seeking a Project Engineer/Assistant PM who is detail-oriented, strategic, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. You’ll play a key role in taking projects from plan review to successful completion while supporting both the office and field teams.
Key Responsibilities:
Read plans and perform on-screen takeoffs
Create project budgets and prepare customer proposals
Manage projects during production to ensure on-time, on-budget completion
Schedule job-site visits with the Production Team
Prepare takeoff sheets, determine pricing, and develop estimates for specialty projects
Extract technical details from plans as requested
Communicate with customers and team members via and email
Handle additional office tasks and special projects as assigned
Preferred Skills & Experience:
Experience with AutoCAD and Bluebeam (preferred)
Strong communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Highly organized with excellent time management skills
Prior HVAC or mechanical construction experience a plus
