Position: Personal / Family Assistant
Location: Manhattan Beach, CA
Schedule: Part-Time, Monday–Friday, ~20 hours/week (flexible schedule; hybrid)
Compensation: $50/hr + gas mileage reimbursement
A busy father in Manhattan Beach with three children (ages 13, 11, and 9) is seeking a highly organized, proactive, and personable Personal/Family Assistant to help streamline daily life and keep the household running smoothly. The role offers a mix of administrative support, household organization, family scheduling, and occasional hands-on assistance with the children.
The ideal candidate is a natural multitasker with exceptional attention to detail, able to think 10 steps ahead, anticipate needs, and handle a variety of personal and family-related tasks with minimal supervision. While this role is primarily administrative and logistical, the right person will also bring a warm, fun energy to the family environment—someone who can be trusted to make life easier while occasionally engaging with the children in a positive, creative way.
Key Responsibilities
Family Scheduling & Organization:
Maintain and coordinate the children’s complex schedules, including school activities, sports, lessons, appointments, and social events.
Communicate clearly with both parents, caregivers, and activity organizers to ensure all schedules are up to date and conflict-free.
Set reminders and prepare weekly schedules in advance.
Household & Errand Support:
Ensure that the home is stocked with healthy food and snacks for the children when they are at Dad’s house.
Manage grocery and household supply orders, both in-person and online.
Run occasional errands (dry cleaning, returns, gift shopping, etc.).
Administrative & Personal Tasks:
Assist with tax preparation, gathering and organizing necessary documents.
Research and coordinate matters related to the principal’s aging father, including preparing paperwork for power of attorney.
Keep track of important dates, deadlines, and renewals (passports, school forms, vehicle registration, etc.).
Child-Related Support (occasional):
Pick up or drop off children at activities when needed.
Provide light supervision if the principal is unavailable.
Bonus: If inclined, engage with the daughters in fun ways—hairstyling, makeup practice, or other creative activities.
Ideal Candidate
Extremely organized and detail-oriented—able to anticipate needs and prevent problems before they arise.
Self-starter who works well independently without constant direction.
Comfortable juggling multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
Tech-savvy, with strong skills in calendars, shared docs, and task management apps.
Positive, upbeat personality who can be fun and approachable with children.
Flexible and adaptable, able to pivot quickly when schedules change.
Discreet and trustworthy with confidential family and financial matters.
Requirements
Previous experience as a Personal Assistant, Family Assistant, or similar role.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Comfort working in a hybrid (remote + in-person) capacity.
Availability for occasional last-minute schedule changes.
