JOB SUMMARY
Maintains the organization’s technology infrastructure, including : computers, servers, networks, printers, and other hardware and software systems. Monitors server performance, user access and administration, and application and service management. Secondarily, supports daily operations by completing both short-term and long-term projects related to the organization's technology needs.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field, plus two (2) years of experience in a related field, OR an equivalent combination of related education, experience, and / or technical certification(s).
Due to the nature of this position, the successful applicant must pass a required background check through fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program in accordance with current County Human Resources policy requirements.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Provides technical support for hardware, software, and network-related issues across the organization; responds to IT needs of employees, prioritizes tasks, and ensures timely resolution.
Installs, configures, and maintains desktops, laptops, servers, printers, scanners, and other IT equipment; monitors servers and ensures uptime and security.
Documents support procedures and maintains accurate records of incidents and solutions.
Provides support to the organization's IT staff in preparing user stories and assists in gathering user requirements via interviews, workshops, questionnaires, surveys, site visits, workflow storyboards, use cases, scenarios, etc.
Maintains an inventory of the organization's IT assets and ensures that all equipment is accounted for and up to date.
Collaborates with organization IT staff to implement and improve IT policies and procedures; assists in assessing organization technology budget.
Performs onboarding and offboarding processes of organization employees, including account setup and equipment provisioning.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSA)
Knowledge of :
Windows and Mac operating systems
Server administration (Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP)
Networking concepts (TCP / IP, switches, firewalls, wireless access points)
Hardware configuration, system implementation, and network security
Database management
Certifications(preferred, not required)
CompTIAA
Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) or similar
Skills and Abilities to :
Diagnose / troubleshoot and research hardware, software, and network issues
Organize and prioritize workload and workflow
Communicate effectively verbally and in writing
Work independently and as part of a team
Plan, schedule, and implement IT projects
Effectively document, as needed, IT projects, processes, and systems
Analyze business and technical processes; identify and implement efficiencies
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
