Position Summary
Based in Camas, WA, the Quality Manager will perform essential job functions under the direction of the General Manager. The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring that products / materials / services supplied / provided to customers meet the contractual requirements established by customers and procedures. This position is also required to ensure that a quality program is implemented and maintained, which will allow a consistent quality standard to be maintained. They have the organizational freedom to identify problems related to quality and correct, initiate action for their correction, or stop any work or activity that violates the established quality standards. This position is safety-sensitive due to the nature of the business and a heavy industrial market.
Essential Job Functions (Duties and Responsibilities)
- Implement and maintain a documented quality program that meets customer requirements and corporate standards.
- Direct and supervise the work of the quality department employees.
- Provide procedures, as required, to support quality department objectives.
- Provide training to individuals whose work affects quality issues in the requirements of the BMS.
- Review customer proposals, requests for quotations, and / or purchase orders, including changes, to determine quality requirements and ensure their input into internal planning.
- Establish / maintain relations with customer representatives in quality-related activities, including source inspection, audits, and process surveys.
- Interface with other departments to provide assistance, resolve problems, and monitor work affecting quality.
- Perform activities defined in the BMS responsibility matrix and monitor / audit responsibilities defined therein.
- Ensure conformance to quality program requirements through external / internal audits, corrective action programs, and training.
- Maintain supplier qualification to ensure their ability to perform work meeting quality standards and obtain process approvals.
- Act as a member of the management team and perform other duties as required by the General Manager.
- Promote safety and good housekeeping and work in a manner consistent with the EMS.

Qualifications
ITAR compliance : U.S. Citizens or Permanent Resident cardholders required.Education : Metallurgy or Materials Science degree required.Experience : Experience in commercial heat treatment of automotive alloys and related metals.Minimum 3 years of department management and 2 years direct supervisory experience.Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English at interfacing levels.Ability to make written recommendations for improving Quality Assurance Systems and Procedures.Familiarity with quality systems such as AMS, ASTM, ISO, AS, QS, and TS; Six Sigma Green Belt preferred or willing to obtain.Working knowledge of PPAP processes; ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and purchase orders.Detail-oriented with the ability to meet deadlines; proficiency with Microsoft Office and databases.Willingness to learn lean and sustainability principles.Physical & Mental Demands
