We currently have an immediate opportunity for a QC Supervisor to join the POWDER DIVISION at our ANAHIEM, CALIFORNIA location.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to :

Schedule : Monday to Friday

PREAMBLE

Under the direction of the Quality Manager, the QA Supervisor leads and directs the activities of Quality (QA) personnel on the floor level to assure both accuracy and timeliness of work performed and adherence to the requirements under 21CFR117 and 21CFR111 regulations (as applicable).

Provides training, plans and organizes workload, and assigns priorities. Prepares and approves deviations and investigations, as necessary.

Individual serves as a key member of the Food Safety Team and is responsible for assisting the Food Safety Team Leader in the application and management of the GFSI Food Safety System.

  • Supervises the activities of a team of Quality personnel in the performance of their tasks as it pertains to compliance of CFR117 and 111 regulations (as applicable).
  • Plans and organizes workload and assigns priorities. Assures that the assigned group or department provides accurate and timely results for effective operations in supporting production.
  • Collect, collate, and analyze data
  • Monitors individual performance and gives reviews as necessary.
  • Develops, writes, review and approves SOPs for activities within the department.
  • Assists in resolving quality issues on the Production floor, reviews and approves production in-process deviations, and review and approve investigations to determine cause of quality deficiencies.
  • Oversees the implementation and documentation and assures that all relevant procedures remain current.
  • Participates in development and coordination of Quality procedures for new and existing products
  • Conducts internal audits to measure and assesses the factory and its team in compliance to cGMPs, Food Safety and company SOPs.
  • Compliance and enforcment with company policies and procedures and maintains regular work attendance.
  • Periodically performs duties of a higher position for the purposes of training and development. May assume the role and responsibilities of Manager during absence.
  • Reports on KPIs as required to maintain or improve the food safety and quality programs
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / JOB DUTIES :

  • Maintain Payroll Database for Quality Employees
  • Gathering and / or distributing of requested docmumentation to relevant parties
  • Build and expand knowledge base of Quality Systems and Principles
  • Assist Manager with any other projects, as needed.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS :

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED :

  • Minimum of 3 years in the food, dietary supplement or drug business encompassing all aspects of Quality Management.
  • Minimum of 5 years working experience in Quality related job function.
  • Minimum High School Diploma, GED, or AA Degree (Bachelor’s degree, a plus)
  • Knowledge of 21 CFR parts 117 and other regulatory standards governing the sanitation and hygiene of food manufacturing.
  • Good planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to lead, train, motivate, and work within a team
  • Excellent oral and written interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience with data collection, data management analytics and KPI reporting

GMPs are the basic minimum requirements and practices for food manufacturers to follow. GMPs can be defined as the operational requirements necessary to enable a food business to produce food safely.

They are guidelines that the manufacturing environment is appropriate for manufacturing safe product.

GMP’s consist of the following categories :

  • The Building and Environment
  • Personnel Practices
  • Employee Facilities and Work Wear
  • Cleaning and Sanitation
  • Pest Control
  • Storage and Waste
  • Control of Allergens
  • Equipment Maintenance

Being in a leadership position, means Supervisors are held to a higher level of compliance and should set a good example of following proper GMPs at all times.

Supervisors / Managers must audit their areas checking for GMP compliance, holding associates accountable when necessary.

Failure to comply with adherence to plant GMP’s will result in demotion, discipline, up to and including termination. Complying with GMP’s will be reviewed by your manager annually.
